Communicative Competence Development of Language C - Spanish 3201-1DKKCH
The aim of the course is to improve the knowledge of the Spanish language at the advanced level, corresponding to level C1 on the scale of language proficiency of the European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe. The training is based on methods consistent with current recommendations of the Council of Europe and the Cervantes Institute. The teaching process emphasizes the harmonious and integrated development of various linguistic communication competencies - linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic competencies.
The teaching methods during classes are focused on the development of particular competencies.
a) linguistic competence (lexical, semantic, grammatical)
-Working with authentic materials - newspaper articles, fragments of radio and television programs devoted to various current social, political, economic and cultural topics: searching for specific information, paraphrasing and summarizing texts.
-Searching for collocations and vocabulary typical for a given topic. Formulating definitions for newly encountered words based on the context, identifying synonyms and antonyms.
-The use of new vocabulary and collocations in the dialogues.
-Supplementing texts with blanks and creating own exercises aimed at consolidating vocabulary.
-Inductive inquiry to grammatical rules, taking from the examples of the use of language. Consolidating exercises
b) Sociolinguistic competence
-Distinguishing various language entries.
-Formulating hypotheses about the meaning of idioms related to the topic discussed.
-Listening comprehension exercises - Identification of types of speech characteristic for different situations, roles and social groups.
-Practising the use of different language entries and their typical idiomatic expressions.
c) Pragmatic competence
-Practising fluency, accuracy, logical consistency and grammatical correctness of oral and written expression.
-Application of structures used to achieve specific functional purposes.
-Exchange of views on the topics discussed - conversation in pairs and participation in discussions in a large group.
-Task Method - students work together in small groups performing tasks during classes and jointly preparing larger projects and presentations.
Prerequisites (description):
Knowledge of the Spanish language at the level of B1-B2 of the CEFR.
This course is not designed for native speakers of Spanish.
