Student’s time investment:
30 class hours;
15 hrs preparation;
5 hrs final assignment or test preparation.
In sum: 50 hrs, corresponding to 2 ECTS.
The last semester can be divided into two segments. First and foremost, the students polish their intrepreting skills during regular classroom sessions oriented towards developing the ability to render details, keep target text logic, maintain correct articulation and proper style. The students practise by means of various advanced texts of different style and logic, delivered by different source text speakers.
In addition, the students work in groups and take part in sessions simulating the real-life interpreting experience, i.e. the so-called mock conferences. These sessions are aimed at preparing the students for work post-graduation. The participants develop the ability to prepare for an assignment, cooperate with their boothmates, work with the virtual client and behave adequately during the assignment itself.
The practical exercises are supplemented with projects conducted on one’s own or in teams, related to the development of vocabulary and general knowledge, e.g. by means of preparing vocabulary lists or presentations.
In order to raise the awareness of professional standards, the students are encouraged to take part in university conferences where simultaneous interpreting is provided.
Furthermore, the EU accreditation test is also covered when it comes to simultaneous interpreting together with the quality assessment criteria.
The students also take part in extra-curricular virtual classes conducted with partner national and foreign institutions, including universities and EU facilities.

1. is capable of interpreting highly specialised texts delivered by different speakers
2. can simultaneously interpret long texts, advanced in terms of vocabulary, phraseology and structure, as well as accreditaion test-type texts
ATTITUDE
1. knows professional conduct and standards, i.e. how to behave in the booth and work together with other interpreters, and clients
2. knows the quality assessment criteria: accuracy – clarity - completeness - fluency - articulation - style - professional conduct
3. understands and observes the basic rules of preparing for work and for an assignment and self-enhancement

The same applies for retake exams.
