Consecutive interpreting (C language) -German - level 3 3200-M2-3TKOCN3
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with basic aspects related to consecutive interpreting (basic processes taking place during interpretation, note-taking, mnemotechniques, strategies, ethics in interpreting, etc.), as well as to provide them with an insight into the profession. During the course, student focus not only on perfecting the technical skills needed for interpreting, but also expand their general knowledge and command of lanugages (mother tongue and the foreign language).
If classroom learning is impossible, the workshop will be conducted with the help of distance communication tools, most probably Google Meet and others recommended by the University.

KNOWLEDGE

- is able to describe the specifics and mechanisms of liaison/ad hoc consecutive (dialogue interpreting) K_W02, K_W03, K_W12.
SKILLS
- is able to deliver a consecutive interpretation (with notes) of a general text (ca. 6-minute- long) K_U02, K_U03, K_U05, K_U11,
- is able to deliver a consecutive interpretation (with notes) of a specialist text ( (ca. 5-6- minute-long) K_U02, K_U03, K_U05, K_U11,
- is able to deliver liaison/ad hoc consecutive K_U02, K_U03, K_U05, K_U11,
- is able to operate portable interpreting equipment (so-called infoports) K_U09, K_U10, K_U11.
SOCIAL COMPETENCE
- understands and applies the ethical principles of the translation profession in practice K_K02, K_K04, K_K05 .
