Elective course: The Image of Venice in Italian Literature 3200-M2-2PFW2
The course covers an outline of the history of Venice from the earliest times to the present day. It is aimed at getting acquainted with the history, art, architecture and culture of the city, and especially with its image on the pages of works of Italian literature by such authors as: Dante, Goldoni, Casanova, D'Annunzio, Pirandello, Comisso, Buzzati.
The course consists of the following topics:
- an outline of the history of Venice
- elements of Venetian culture
- reading and analyzing literary works in which there is a description of the city or the action takes place in it.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student acquires knowledge of the cultural history of Venice and Italian literature about Venice.
Assessment criteria
The seminar is based on the interaction between the tutor and the students. Texts will be frequently assigned to reading, and discussions will take place on the basis of them.
Assessment criteria:
- current assessment of classes - 20%
- grade at the end of the semester, oral exam.
In the case of the final test, a scale from 2 (insufficient) to 5+ (excellent) is used
