The scope of the course includes:
1. Characteristics of translation project management – basic concepts: projects, project management, types of projects, text analysis, text finalization, glossary, quality control, text conversion, proofreading, translation memory, CAT tools, editing, verification, quality assurance.
2. Main phases of a translation project: * Preparation (conversion of text into a format suitable for translation, text analysis, glossary preparation, preparing instructions for translators, team selection).
- Production / Work with the text (translation using CAT tools and verification).
- Post-production / Finishing (conversion to the target format, verification of compliance with client requirements, project settlement).
- Team management in project implementation – selection of translation team members, roles and tasks within the team, communication strategies, problem-solving within the
team.

By the end of this course, students will be familiar with the full lifecycle of a translation project—from initial file prep to the final proofreading stage. They will also gain insight into the technical side of project management and learn how to navigate the specific challenges that crop up at each step of the process.

Assessment criteria
Attendance and active participation in classes. Attendance control – two absences are permitted; 3–4 absences require the preparation of an additional assignment on a topic specified by the instructor; more than four absences result in a failure to complete the course (no credit).
