Specialization lecture 3200-M2-0WSPEC
The aim of the lecture is to develop specific translation problems (e.g. concerning the translator's profession in various contexts and situations, including conflict) and interdisciplinary, auxiliary issues in the context of translation (e.g. law, political science or economics), which, due to their specialised character, enable students to shape their own research and professional path. Lectures are authorial in nature, their subject matter changes depending on the course cycle, students' interests and research conducted.
Examples of lectures on offer: Translation in conflict situations, EU law, political and economic systems, English as lingua franca, the profession of an interpreter

After completing the course the student:
Knowledge:
- has ordered knowledge of language and intercultural communication (K_W01; S_W01);
- knows and understands the relationships between a given field and related fields of philology and humanities (K_W05, S_W01, S_W04);
- has basic knowledge about cultural institutions and orientation in contemporary cultural life in various countries (K1_W05, S_W03);
- is aware of e.g. the comprehensive nature of language and its historical variability, the complexity of phenomena associated with language communication (K_W09, S_W11);
- knows and understands the relationships between a given field and related fields of philology and humanities (K_W05, S_W01, S_W04);
Skills:
- is able to use basic theoretical approaches, paradigms appropriate for the field of study (K_U04, S_U06);
- is able to work according to the goals and guidelines formulated by the academic supervisor (K_U03, S_U13);
- knows how to use research tools correctly (K_U02, S_U02);
Social competence:
- is aware of cultural differences existing between messengers (K1_K06);
- understands and appreciates the importance of culture and cultural elements for communication (K_K05, K_K06, S_K06)
- is open to representatives of other cultures / other cultures (K_K06, S_K06);
