Their aim is to present the requirements for the construction and editing of a scientific text and to develop the ability to use a scientific text in Russian.

Seminar classes lead to a master thesis. Their aim is to present the requirements for the construction and editing of a scientific text, to develop the ability to use a scientific text in Russian and to prepare for the master's examination in a given field. The program requires a considerable amount of students' own work, for which a high motivation to learn is necessary. After the course, the student:
Knowledge:
The student knows and understands:
- the complex structure of the foreign language and its historical development, especially with regard to the language standard, language varieties, dialects, lexicography and language teaching;
- terminology in linguistics;
- main directions of development and the most important new scientific achievements in the field of linguistics;
- research methods, methods of analysis of various cultural products specific to selected traditions, theories or research schools in the field of linguistics (K2_W07);
- interrelationship of linguistics with other fields of science, the role of language in interpersonal and intercultural communication, cultural differences shaping relations in the contemporary world and the resulting socio-economic realities.
Skills:
The student is able to:
- use the knowledge gained to carry out research in the field of linguistics using an appropriate methodology; identify cultural elements; search, analyse, evaluate and select authentic texts in a foreign language, also using the latest technologies;
- to formulate and express one's own views and ideas using the arguments of other authors and to make oral and written proposals in a foreign language;
- interact and work in a research group, assuming different roles within it;
- gain knowledge of linguistics on their own, assess the usefulness of the research methods they have learned;
Social competences:
The student is ready to:
- recognise the latest knowledge of linguistics, to critically assess the content received and to identify problems of international communication in this field;
- to participate permanently and actively in the cultural life of the country and foreign language area;
- recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems and to consult experts.

If it is not possible to conduct classes in a stationary form, classes will be held using remote communication tools, most probably Google Meet and other recommended by the University of Warsaw. |
