Elective course:Interculturality in business communication and mnagement 3200-M1-PF-MKGZ
The course includes an introduction (or brief review) of the fundamentals of intercultural communication (the concept of culture, cultural behavior). The course will also begin with a discussion of general issues related to communication and culture. Specific topics include: communication styles, corporate culture in the context of cultural analysis, perceptions of the “other,” stereotypes, prejudices, intercultural competence, and management concepts in multinational corporations (international, multicultural, and intercultural).
The course will also address practical aspects of the subject: practical problems of intercultural management (cultural, economic, and legal), practical issues in intercultural management (macro- and microeconomic), intercultural etiquette in business, principles of intercultural training, practical methods of intercultural training, and diagnosing and overcoming problems arising from intercultural differences in the corporate environment.

In terms of knowledge: the student is familiar with the theoretical foundations of intercultural communication, business communication, and intercultural management.
In terms of skills: the student is able to identify and overcome problems arising from intercultural differences in their own workplace (or academic setting) and within a group of colleagues. In terms of attitudes: the student is open to and interested in intercultural differences.
