KNOWLEDGE
The graduate knows:
− types and forms of simultaneous interpreting and its development trends (S2_W01, K_W02, K_W03, K_W05, K_W11)
− the tools, basic strategies and techniques of simultaneous interpreting, as well as the rules of cooperation in the booth and working with a microphone (S2_W02, K_W01, K_W02, K_W03, K_W10)
SKILLS
The graduate is able to:
− use the technique of divided attention (S2_ K_U01, K_U03, K_U05)
− maintain optimal décalage (S2_ K_U01, K_U03, K_U05)
− use the anticipation strategy (S2_ K_U01, K_U03, K_U05)
− simultaneously interpret from Spanish into Polish (language A) and from Polish (language A) into Spanish a narrative and argumentative text on current events, 10 minutes long, with a medium level of lexical and phraseological difficulty. (S2 _K_U03, K_U04, K_U07, K_U08, K_U09, K_U10, K_U11, K_U13)
SOCIAL COMPETENCES
The graduate is prepared:
− to uphold the ethos of the translation profession and to observe and develop the principles of professional ethics for interpreters (S2_KO8, K_K04, K_K05)
− to critically evaluate original texts/oral statements and their translations. (S2_KO1, K_K01, K_K05, K_K06)
− recognise the importance of knowledge, including translation knowledge, in solving translation problems. (S2_KO2, K_K01, K_K02, K_K05)
