Terminology A and C - russian language, level 1 3200-M1-2TAC1R
The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of A and C language terminology on the example of two selected modules from among those proposed in a given educational cycle in the field of legal, economic, general technical, specialist - field, medical, political and social sciences terminology.
The exercises pursue various objectives: from distinguishing general texts from specialist texts, getting to know specialist terminology from selected thematic circles, expanding the range of specialist vocabulary, through improving language skills in selected fields in A and C languages, to improving the process of translating specialist texts and creating terminological glossaries with the possibility of exporting data to translation memories.
Students develop their skills in preparing for specialist translation, as well as solving encountered terminological problems using terminology sources available in A and C, and improving their skills in qualitative assessment of terminology sources.

At the end of the course, the student demonstrates the following skills:
(KNOWLEDGE) - the student knows and understands:

- in an extended scope, the role of language in communication between people and cultures, as well as cultural differences as an important factor in the development of relations in the modern world (K2_W11)

(SKILLS) - the student can do it:
- to a deeper degree identify characteristic cultural elements and properly interpret the occurring social and historical transformations in relation to the reality of the studied language area (K2_U02)
- advanced search, analyse, evaluate and select information in the mother tongue and foreign languages using the latest information and communication technologies (K2_U03)
- independently use advanced research tools of applied linguistics, including appropriate methods and tools to solve problems and create in-depth interpretations (K2_U04)
- communicate using various channels and communication techniques with linguistics specialists and non-specialists in their native and foreign languages in typical and non-standard professional situations requiring knowledge of techniques, strategies and different communication channels and knows how to counteract conflicts using language as a communication tool (K2_U05)
- be able to speak and write in the B language at C2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (K2_U07)
