Terminology A and C - english language, level 1 3200-M1-2TAC1A
The aim of the subject is to deepen the knowledge of the terminology of languages A and B on the example of two modules selected by students from among the following: legal, economic, technical, medical, political, cultural and artistic and literary terminology, implemented in subsequent semesters according to the curriculum.
The exercises pursue various objectives: from distinguishing general texts from specialist texts, getting to know specialist terminology from selected thematic circles, broadening the range of specialist vocabulary, through improving linguistic skills in selected areas in A and B, to improving the process of translating specialist texts and creating terminology sheets. Students prepare for specialist translation and solve their terminological problems. If necessary, they prepare to cooperate with experts or a group of translators in the process of finding specialist terminology. Students also learn traditional and networked A and B language terminology resources, as well as terminology standards for the chosen field, including rules for compiling and evaluating them.
