S2.3_W06 research methods of modern terminology, lexicography, corpus linguistics, text linguistics, translation studies, and literary text analysis

(SKILLS)
The student is able to:
K2_U01 use the acquired knowledge to carry out research work in the field of linguistics using appropriate methodology
K2_U04 search, analyze, evaluate and select information in the native language and foreign languages
K2_U05 use advanced research tools in linguistics and select research methods appropriate to the problems encountered
K2_U07 communicate in the native and foreign language in various professional situations with specialists, using the
K2_U11 independently acquire knowledge in linguistics and evaluate the usefulness of the learned methods, practices and procedures in their own professional activity
S2.3_U01 use the terminological and translational knowledge in the course of research and professional activity
S2.3_U03 appropriately select sources and information and apply adequate methods and tools to solve complex terminological and translational tasks, and innovatively perform such tasks under conditions that are not fully predictable
S2.3_U04 formulate and test hypotheses and present the results of their observations and analyses, as well as make judgments in the field of linguistics (especially terminology and translation)
S2.3_U08 translate a written or oral text in A, B and C, translate a text from the source language to the target language, using terminology databases;
S2.3_U09 verify and evaluate the submitted translation, including the translation of a specialized text
S2.3_U10 create terminology cards for terminology databases, and compile specialized glossaries in language A, B and C

(SOCIAL COMPETENCES)
The student is ready to:
K2_K01 recognize the importance of the latest knowledge in the field and critically evaluate the received content
K2_K02 adequately identify and resolve problems of interlingual communication
K2_K03 permanent and active participation in cultural life using traditional and modern forms and media
K2_K04 perform the profession of a language mediator in accordance with the principles of professional ethics
K2_K05 recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems and seek expert opinions
K2_K06 apply scientifically based criteria for assessing different types of translation
S2.3_K01 critically evaluate the knowledge possessed and the content received, as well as consult experts in the field of linguistics (in particular terminology and translation studies) when solving theoretical and practical terminological and translation problems;
S2.3_K03 fulfill social obligations and act for social interest involving effective use of knowledge in linguistics (in particular terminology and translation studies)
S2.3_K07 apply adequate, scientifically justified criteria for evaluating different terminological resources and different genres of translated texts
S2.3_K08 constantly develop and improve the terminology and translation skills.
