The course program covers topics relevant to effective foreign language teaching. Issues related to social, cognitive, and developmental psychology, as well as theories of emotion and motivation, are discussed. The course is supported by a variety of audiovisual materials. Students are encouraged to independently explore the psychological knowledge necessary to effectively perform a teaching profession.
The course covers the following topics:
Group processes
Aggression
Intelligence and memory processes
Theories of perception and motivation
Emotions
Stress and coping with stress
Thought processes and speech
Issues in developmental psychology
Basic issues in cross-cultural psychology
Basic issues in clinical psychology

Knowledge:
has knowledge of the subject-specific and methodological aspects of psychology, which they are able to develop and creatively apply in their professional activities is familiar with terminology in the field of general psychology ((K1_W13, K1_W14)
has knowledge of contemporary achievements and research centers, covering selected areas of psychology ((K1_W11)
Skills:
is able to independently acquire knowledge and expand their research skills, as well as take autonomous actions aimed at developing their abilities and managing their own professional career
has the ability to argue substantively using their own views and those of other authors, formulate conclusions, and create synthetic summaries (K1_U12)
Social competences:
is able to cooperate and work in a group, taking on various roles (including the roles of teacher and/or translator) (K1_KO5)
is able to properly define priorities for the implementation of tasks set by themselves or others (K1_K06)
Assessment criteria
The final grade is based on the final exam taken during the semester (100%).
55%-69% = 3
70%-74% = 3+
75%-84% = 4
85%-89% = 4+
90%-100% = 5
