Psychological and pedagogical internship 3200-M-0PZPP
The purpose of the internship is to use the acquired knowledge and skills during independent implementation of assigned tasks, deepening psychological and pedagogical reflection in relation to educational and didactic situations at school, as well as improving the ability to document and evaluate one's own work. Internships include: learning the legal documents of the school where the internship is carried out: statute, educational and preventive program, cooperation program with parents, internal school grading system, competence of the pedagogical council, other regulations in force at the school; acquiring the ability to conduct and use school documentation: plan, program, material distribution, lesson diary, student achievement sheets; learning the duties of a class teacher; learning the rules of teacher's work evaluation resulting from the pedagogical supervision plan; assessment of the style of directing and communicating with the class of teacher-educator and the difficulties he declares in his professional work based on the observations of his lessons as well as the conducted survey and interview; critical event analysis; independent design of the class scenario; preparing a case study of a student with special educational needs of the student; self-assessment of acquired knowledge and skills in accordance with the self-evaluation sheet. The experience gained during the internships will be discussed during the classes in Pedagogy and Psychology.

After completing the psychological and pedagogical internship:
In terms of knowledge, the student knows and understands:
B.3.W1. the tasks characteristic of a school or educational institution and the environment in which they operate;
B.3.W2. the organisation, statute, and work plan of the school, the educational and preventive programme, and the programme for implementing career counselling;
B.3.W3. the principles of ensuring student safety in and outside the school.
In terms of skills, the student is able to:
B.3.U1. draw conclusions from observing the work of the homeroom teacher, their interactions with students, and the way they plan and conduct educational activities;
B.3.U2. draw conclusions from observing how subject teachers integrate care, educational, and didactic activities;
B.3.U3. draw conclusions, where possible, from direct observation of the work of the teaching council and the team of homeroom teachers;
B.3.U4. draw conclusions from direct observation of teachers’ extracurricular care and educational activities, including during supervision duties, between-class breaks, and organised student outings;
B.3.U5. plan and conduct educational activities under the supervision of a professional internship supervisor;
B.3.U6. analyse, with the help of the internship supervisor and academic teachers responsible for psychological and pedagogical training, the pedagogical situations and events observed or experienced during the internship.
In terms of social competences, the student is ready to:
B.3.K1. cooperate effectively with the internship supervisor and teachers in order to broaden their knowledge.
Assessment criteria
The psychological and pedagogical internship may take place in a public school, a non-public school, or a psychological and pedagogical counseling centre.
The student chooses and reports to the Internship Coordinator the place where the internship will be carried out, in order to receive an internship referral and to agree on the details related to the implementation of the internship. The Internship Coordinator remains in contact with the institutions where the students complete their internships.
After completing the internship, the student is required to submit documentation confirming the completion of the internship to the Internship Coordinator: a certificate of completion of the psychological and pedagogical internship of 30 hours. In addition, the student is required to submit the psychological and pedagogical internship evaluation form signed by the internship supervisor, confirming the achievement of the learning outcomes assigned to the internship.
Bibliography
Familiarity with the literature required during the psychology and pedagogy course is mandatory. Additional literature may be established (optionally) with the internship supervisor individually, according to the student’s needs.
