The aim of the teaching practice is to prepare students to language teaching profession by introducing them to schoolwork in the primary school, secondary school and kindergarten by shaping motivation to pedagogical work, and verification of theoretical knowledge ( linguistic, psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic and neurolinguistic) gained at the university.

Observation and teaching 80 hours

Prerequisites (description)

Having completed psychopedagogical and didactic courses assigned for students who aimed at getting teaching qualifications without completing any previous teaching courses.

Having completed teaching practice student:

-knows primary school organization and documentation
-knows how to document his or her own work.

-can plan a language lesson for a young learners
-can implement various aims of the lesson: linguistic, communicative,
-can apply strategies of teaching language elements and skills in accordance with learners’ characteristics and age
-can select teaching methods and techniques according to the needs of learners.
-can use various didactic aids
-can teach language to young learners
-can enhance autonomy and self-study strategies in learners
-can adjust teaching methods and techniques to various educational contexts
-can analytically observe lessons taught by another teacher
within social attitudes
-can identify learners’ needs
-adopts a good teacher’s qualities: of a guide in a FL learning process
-cooperates with other teachers and a school pedagogue
- modifies own professional behavior in according to mentor’s instructions

Assessment criteria

-lesson observations
-preparing lesson plans and presenting them to the supervisor of the practice
-reflection on lessons observed and taught
-teaching lessons
-active participation in school activities
-submitting to the supervisor complete documents required
