Elective course: How to learn a foreign language? 3200-L2-PF-UJO
The subject of the course are various aspects of learning foreign languages. Strategies of learning and memorizing vocabulary and grammar material in a foreign language are discussed. The possibilities of explaining various grammatical phenomena are presented, as well as the possibilities of practising grammatical and lexical structures, with a special emphasis on speaking skills, which play a key role in communication in a foreign language.
Various issues related to such topics as types of motivation to learn foreign languages and language mistakes are also discussed.

- the student knows the main difficulties related to learning grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation of a foreign language and ways of coping with them,
- the student knows methods of practising speaking, writing, reading, and listening comprehension in a foreign language (German)
- the student knows the classification of language errors and can recognize the cause of their occurrence
- the student knows different types of motivation for learning foreign languages
- the student knows and is able to apply foreign language learning strategies.
Assessment criteria
1. Obligatory attendance (two absences are allowed).
2. Homework assignment delivered on time.
3. Written exam at the end of the semester.
The final grade is the grade obtained for the final test.
Test evaluation criteria:
55%-70% 3 (dostateczny)
71%-75% 3+ (dostateczny plus)
76%-90% 4 (dobry)
91%-95% 4+ (dobry plus)
96%-100% 5 (bardzo dobry)
