Descriptive Grammar, Swedish - level 2 3200-L2-GOCS2
The course provides an overview of the basic features of the Swedish syntax (sentence patterns, syntactical relationships). The course is designed to:
- present the basics of the syntax of the Swedish language,
- develop students' linguistic terminology,
- deepen the knowledge acquired during practical Swedish classes.
Topics: simple sentence and its parts, complex sentence and its elements., coordinate and subordinate clauses, variation in syntax.
Terminology is given in Polish and Swedish. Some terms may also be presented in classical languages, according to the Swedish or common linguistic tradition.
Workload:
- Contact hours (in-class): 30 hrs;
- Self-study/individual work (25 hrs):
• preparation for tasks verifying the learning outcomes (home assignments) – 15 hrs
• revising and preparation for the final exam – 10 hrs

The student:

SKILLS:
The student:
K1_U01
is able to search for, analyse, evaluate and select short authentic texts in Swedish and develop professional skills in applied and general linguistics,

has basic research skills, can formulate research problems and can use research tools of applied and general linguistics,

is able to apply theoretical knowledge of applied linguistics in typical professional situations, including team projects and interdisciplinary projects,

Assessment criteria
Assessment methods
- Continuous assessment (preparedness, activity in class)
- final written exam
The student is allowed to take the final written exam only if they have no more than two unjustified absences, and the overall number of absences does not exceed 50% of all the classes. The student who does not meet those criteria and thus cannot take the final written exam, fails the course.
Re-take written exam is organized in the same way as the exam organized in the main exam period.
