Descriptive Grammar, French - level 2 3200-L2-GOBF2
The course familiarizes students with basic notions in descriptive grammar of French language (with strong emphasis on functional, syntax
and morphological approach). Main part of the course is the review of basic features of French language grammar system, including: (i)
main parts of speech and word croups connected with them; (ii) basic sentence patterns; (iii) discursive functions of basic types of main
sentences; (iv) grammatical, semantic and pragmatical aspects associated with main sentence and clauses; (v) grammatical aims used for
distribution of information within and outside of a sentence. The subject of the course's first part covers GN, GV topics, as well as
introduction to descriptive apparatus of the sentence.

K1_W01, knows the structure of language as a system, has basic knowledge of the place and importance of linguistics (general and applied) and literary studies within the system of sciences, and understands their specific subject matter.
K1_W02, knows basic terminology in linguistics (general and applied) and literary studies.
K1_W05, knows and understands the specificity of contemporary linguistic paradigms (general and applied). Has structured general knowledge of the theory and methodology of linguistics and literary studies.
K1_W08, knows basic terminology and has systematic knowledge of phonetics, phonology, and the descriptive grammar of the two foreign languages studied, as well as contrastive grammar (applies to the relationship between Polish and one selected foreign language).
K1_U01, is able to critically analyze texts as cultural products, is able to search for, analyze, evaluate, and select authentic texts in two foreign languages studied, and develop professional skills in applied linguistics and literary studies.
K1_U02, has basic research skills, is able to formulate research problems, and is able to use research tools in applied linguistics (within the subfields of linguistics appropriate to the chosen module) and literary studies. Is able to appropriately select methods for solving problems within the chosen field.
K1_U09, has language skills in two foreign languages studied in accordance with the requirements specified for level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
K1_U10, is able to appropriately apply theoretical knowledge in the fields studied (applied linguistics and literary studies) in typical professional situations, including team projects, including interdisciplinary projects.
K1_K01 is ready to adequately identify and resolve interlingual communication dilemmas caused by the asymmetry of language systems and cultural differences, adhering to ethical behavior patterns and seeking expert opinions.
K1_K02 is ready to critically evaluate one's own knowledge in applied linguistics and literary studies, and appreciates the importance of substantive argumentation in solving research and practical problems (in professional situations).
K1_K03 is ready to participate in the cultural life of the region, country, and Europe, using both traditional and modern forms and media.
