Phonetics and Phonology (B) - Spanish 3200-L1-FFBH
The aim of the classes is to transfer knowledge in phonetics and phonology, with special focus on the phonetics and phonology of Spanish. Students will learn the phonetic and phonological description of the standard variant pronunciation (Castilian), as well as learn about the major differences between it and other variants. Besides, they get to know stress rules and main intonation patterns.
Students acquire knowledge useful when you use the language: knowledge of correct pronunciation, accent and intonation, ability of syllabic division and interword junction, knowledge of the correct spelling.
Student's workload:
Participation in classes = 30 hours

Preparation for the exam = 10 hours

After the lecture, the student:
K1_W05, knows and understands in depth the main directions of development and contemporary research tendencies in the field of linguistics and the main research centres in linguistics.
K1_W08, knows and understands at a deeper level the role of language in communication between people and cultures.
K1_U05, is able to communicate in native and foreign languages in various professional situations with specialists, using various communication channels, techniques, and strategies.
K1_U09, is able to independently acquire knowledge in the field of linguistics and evaluate the usefulness of learned methods, practices, and procedures in one's own professional activity.
K1_K01, recognizes the importance of the latest knowledge in the field and critically evaluates received content.
K1_K02, is ready to adequately identify and resolve problems in interlingual and intercultural communication.
