Diploma Seminar 3106-SEMDYPTJ
The first semester of the seminar is devoted to defining the subject and scope of the thesis research, setting the subject and title of the thesis, developing its detailed outline and collecting all the necessary sources and bibliography of the subject.
In the second semester, the participants of the seminar write subsequent subsections of their work, systematically presenting the results of their achievements at subsequent meetings, during which the content of the work is discussed by the team.

Learning outcomes
As a result of the cooperation, the student becomes proficient in the selection of source material, collecting literature, formulating research issues and hypotheses, problematizing the content and systematically presenting them in oral and written form.
Assessment criteria
The basis for passing the first semester is submitting in writing a detailed outline of the work along with a full list of sources and bibliography of the subject.
Completion of the second semester (for the bachelor's seminar) is based on the completed papers submitted for review (criteria can be found at http://imuz.uw.edu.pl/studia-2/procedury-jakosci-ksztaloszenia/).
In the case of master's and doctoral dissertations, one chapter of the thesis is the basis for passing the second semester.
Practical placement
It is advisable (though not necessary) to complete an internship (e.g. in source studies) in one of the music libraries.
Bibliography
The bibliography is selected adequately to the topics reported by the seminar participants.
