Learning outcomes
Knowledge of the most important features of selected early chant, mensural and tablature notations. The ability to recognize these notations and make simple transcriptions of early musical scores.
Assessment criteria
The condition for passing the course is active attendance at classes (no more than three absences are allowed). During a semester students are obliged to do some short transcriptions of early music notation. The final test involves recognizing different types of musical notation and characterizing them.
