Pre-seminar Courses - General 3106-1PSO
The first part of the course deals with the preparation of academic papers: planning, choice of form, edition and correction. An important aspect of the course is the art of correct quotation and creating a clearly presented bibliography. We will also see how academic texts are constructed, what the differences are between various styles of academic writing, and what the strong and weak points of each style are. In the second part of the course we will discuss selected issues of musical anthropology, the history and aesthetic of rock, jazz and film music. Discussions will familiarise students with topics which they may encounter when writing their future bachelor’s dissertations and master’s theses.
