Methodics of Teaching History of Music 2 3106-1MH2-P
he class is a continuation of the course in Methodics of teaching music history, started in the previous academic year (1st year of SM).
The classes have a conversational and workshop character. Part of the classes is devoted to issues correlating with school practice, carried out by students at a similar time (including improvement of the workshop in the field of activating pupils' activities, especially those related to musical examples for auditory and auditory-visual analysis on the basis of scores).
In addition, methodological issues will be addressed in the field of the specificity of the material in different historical eras, as well as the selection of musical repertoire that exemplifies the material discussed in lessons and intended for auditory credit (discussion of author's draft programs of teaching prepared in previous semester).
In addition, methodological issues will be addressed in the specifics of the material in different historical eras and the selection of musical repertoire exemplifying the material discussed in lessons and intended for aural credit (discussion of author's draft curricula for the selected era prepared in the previous semester).
More than half of the class is devoted to the discussion of methods of measuring the results of teaching on the basis of the assigned methodological readings discussed later in the meetings. In accordance with the motto of B. Niemierko's motto that it's easier to indicate how written assignments and tests should not be prepared than to give a recipe for an ideal test, students critically analyze selected music history math worksheets and assignments of various types prepared by the instructor. They also try their hand at grading tasks (especially the more difficult ones for objective evaluation of open tasks), comparing and discussing the results of their own work. They become proficient in constructing different types of open and closed tasks, which culminates in the creation of their own original music history tests.

Learning outcomes
The student knows the specifics of the subject, uses up-to-date methods and teaching aids, is able to develop an original syllabus, prepare and conduct a lesson, construct tests correctly and evaluate teaching results. He knows the principles of school functioning and is aware of the role of the teacher.
Assessment criteria
The basis for passing is attendance in class (absences must be justified), as well as active participation in discussions and realization of tasks provided for in the course program for this semester of study.
The final written work includes the preparation of an author's written test on a selected epoch in the history of music, corresponding to the epoch for which the author's draft syllabus was previously prepared.
Review materials from classes (possible presentations, audio and video recordings of musical examples presented in class and indicated for self-listening, possible additional literature on the subject, sheet music examples, selected teaching aids) will be collected on the Classroom, in the tab dedicated to the subject Methodics of teaching music history 2. Students at the beginning of the cycle of semester classes each time receive a link with an invitation to the Classroom, which is active until the end of the corrective examination session for the semester.
Practical placement
In accordance with the specialization program, the student is doing an apprenticeship in a secondary music school during this semester, taking part in hospitalizations, preparing teaching materials, conducting his own lessons as directed by the school's apprenticeship supervisor and familiarizing himself with the work of the school.
