Classes deal with following topics: concept of the state ( population, territory, sovereign power, unitarism, federalism, confederation, autonomic areas), actors of interantional relations (nations, international organisations, movements and corporations, Catholic Church), theories of world politics (realism and liberalism), introdution to international law (sources and enforcement of international law, ineternational courts), human rights (generations of human rights, international protection of human rights, Council of Europe), using of force in international relations, terrorism, chances and challenges globalization procces, global problems (migrations and refuges, North-South Gap, environmental issues, HIV/AIDS), selected international conflicts (Chechenya, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Persian Gulf, Near East, Kashmir, Darfour, Taiwan); European integration process; Poland in the European Union .
The goal of this course is to familiarize students with theory of interantional relations, diffrent schollars' approaches to politological reaserches, the main problems of contemporary world politics and international position of Poland. Besides that students should practice their ability to critical study of political issues and ability to participate in public debate.
Conditions to earn credits: attendance, active in - class participation;
