Easter Island from mythology to archeology 3101-DKWI
Easter Island (Rapa Nui) - is located in the South Pacific. Located at a distance of 2078 km from the nearest inhabited islands - Pitcairn and 3600 km from the coast of Chile (to which it belongs), is the most distant from the islands and lands inhabited island in the world. This mysterious place far associated mainly with stone statues called Moai. It knows almost everyone.
The purpose of this course is to present and close knowledge of Easter Island and its ancient inhabitants. Analyze the problems associated with achieving the ruins of a closed ecosystem. That would take extensive pilgrimage through the world of myths, of which traces may be found in archaeological material. The island is known and registered over 30 thousand different of archaeological objects. From the remains of various buildings and structures, ceremonial units, stone figures, moai, the petroglyphs and other small objects on the reconstructed caves. On the basis of archaeological and historical data will be converted and analyzed the problems associated with ecological and social change on the island at various stages of its history.
