Greek and Latin Reading 3006-LAO2
By reading of parts of classical texts chosen by the teacher, students prepare themselves to read books of the authors from the canon of readings and to pass them according to the list of books for each year.
The attention is focused on:
- the ability of correct reading and efficient translating of texts and analyzing them grammatically,
- the basic knowledge about authors and their works,
- the knowledge about figures, places, historical events and other facts mentioned in the text,
- the ability of an analysis of the critical apparatus, the basic knowledge about manuscript tradition of a text (for the first year of the first grade’s studies)
- in the case of poetry – a knowledge of metrics

- recognizes basic metric measures of the Greek and Latin poetry

Assessment criteria
The assignment on the grounds of presence at the classes, the final mark is an average of the marks from passing every reading from the list of books of each year of studies
