The main issues covered in the lecture:
1. Substantial inflectional changes - the main trends in the development of Polish inflection. Introduction. Name inflection. Verbal inflection.
2. Name inflection. The basis of noun declention development in the old Polish language history. Main inflectional categories: case, gender, number, and their evolution in the Polish language.
3. Masculine declention. The rules of ending repartition in singular and plural. The appearance of soft and hardthematic inflection. Semantisation of noun inflection, relict endings, demorfologization of gender.
4. Neutral gender declention, rules of ending repartition. The origins of declention of nouns such as cielę, cielęcia, imię, imienia, niebo, niebiosa, relicts of the old declention.
5. Feminine declention; the origins of vowel and consonant declention, the shifts of the type (vowel or consonant), gender shifts (żołędź, goleń) etc.
