The course is devoted to the analysis of linguistic practices treated both as a research laboratory and as a cultural laboratory.
Its aim is to prepare for individual cultural studies of communicative practices (taking into account relations to thelogosphere, phonosphere, iconosphere as environments of verbal creativity), with particular emphasis on linguistic practices that are rooted in everyday practices and cultural institutions. During the seminar we will discuss outlines and excerpts of master's theses, and the principles of writing and editing academic texts. In class we will also discuss theoretical lectures and source texts related to the topics of the thesis.

Knowledge:
The seminar participant knows and understands:
- in-depth cultural studies theories of communication, word practices and media and the contemporary logosphere
- in-depth knowledge of contemporary research methodologies on the spoken, manuscript, printed and digital word and on
narratives and discourses embedded in the contemporary logosphere
- in-depth historical context of theories, concepts and perspectives in cultural studies used in the course
- methods of working with both contemporary and archival material
The student is able to:
- use the knowledge and skills acquired in class to analyse cultural phenomena in independent and group work from the perspective of the
perspective of the anthropology of word and communication.
- gather source material appropriate to their chosen topic and analyse it
- construct a bibliography of theoretical texts appropriate to the chosen topic
- construct appropriate footnotes and take care of the editing of the text
- read a scientific text carefully and with understanding, and apply the theoretical or
methodological suggestions
- speak in discussion on the basis of texts read
Social competences:
The student is prepared to:
- to read scientific texts independently, taking into account the search for context
- discussion of both theory and research methodology in the study of the contemporary logosphere and its characteristic institutions,
genres, practices, narratives and discourses.
- working with a group on a selected issue from the text under discussion
- working on your own dissertation while adhering to the standards of academic work
Bibliography
Literature will be selected in cooperation with participants and taking into account their individual research projects.
