Sexual subjectivity: literary myths and cultural effigies - 2 3001-A931LK2
The first part of the course explains terms "sexuality" "subjectivity" and "myth" refering to Ryszard Nycz, Tomek Kitliński, Michel Foucault, Camille Paglia, Roland Barthes and Denis du Rougemont.
The aim of next part is to approximate classical mythical and literature persona which has been developing into interpretative categories of modern culture: Oedipus, Narcissus, Phedre, Antigone, Ganymede, Hamlet, Don Juan, Goethe's Werter, Marquise de Sade and the figure of Femme Fatale\Dominatrix.
The next part gives attention on two classical books: Julia Kristeva's "Pouvoirs de l'horreur. Essai sur l'abjection" and Hans Meyer's "Außbensteiner" and the most important categories consisted in those essays (abject, feminine, Jew, homosexualist, queer).
The last part of the course gives overview of sexual subjectivity as the integrant of particular popculture icons' effigies.
After finishing this course students would be able to find gender element in texts of culture.
