Practical study of an ancient language III: Latin 2900-HAMC-LANGLAT3
Learning advanced Latin vocabulary (repetition of the known one); studying advanced grammatical structures and syntactic forms of Latin (repetition of known ones); translation of source texts at all levels of difficulty under guidance of the teacher; studying time variability of Latin and specialist terminology related to the student’s area of interest.
Prerequisites:
Knowledge of following Latin grammar topics: I, II, III, IV, V declensions; present, imperfect, future I, perfect, pluperfect, perfect future indicative; present imperative; present, imperfect, perfect, pluperfect subjunctive; present, perfect infinitive; perfect participle; comparison of adjectives; accusativus cum infinitive, nominativus cum infinitive; ablativus absolutus.

Students understand and translate with a dictionary Latin texts at all levels of difficulty, recognise grammar forms of words and Latin structures.
Assessment criteria
Mark is given on the ground of:
- the attendance list
- preparing to classes and activity during them
- written tasks
- tests and translations during the semester
- the final translation with grammar questions
