The course aims to acquaint students with the chosen theories, conceptions, methods and tools of information and knowledge organization used in artificial information systems.
The course raises the following issues:
1. Knowledge organization as a field of research.
2. The basic concepts, among others, information, knowledge, knowledge categories and their features.
3. The classic and contemporary information and knowledge organization structures and tools.
4. Representation of knowledge organization strukctures.

After completing the course, students:
KNOWLEDGE:
Student knows the contemporary theories, conceptions, methods and tools of information and knowledge organization.
SKILLS:
He/she has the ability to apply knowledge to choose the appropriate methods and tools to create the correct information organization scheme.
OTHER COMPETENCES:
He/she understands the importance of knowledge in solving problems.
Assessment criteria
Written test during the last class.
The condition for passing the test is to obtain a minimum of 51% points.
