Management and Marketing in Library and Information Practice 2700-M-IN-Z2ZMBPI
The classes will address issues of basic terms relating to the management and marketing of the area libraries. The deliberations will be the library among the cultural institutions and non-profit organization, the profession of librarian and stereotypes associated with it, the specifics of library management, library management strategies, management styles, motivating employees, a network library, testing the quality of library services, the components of marketing, public relations and promotion in the library. There will also be taken into account aspects of the development of new technologies and their impact on libraries (eg digital libraries, Library 2.0).

Knows the specialized terminology pertinent to the basic humanities, book and information science. Has deeper, systematic knowledge leading to specialization in the field of the scientific disciplines proper for library and information science other than the directional disciplines. Is capable of independent learning and widening own research skills in the field of book and information studies, and of development and shaping of own professional career. Has the ability to integrate knowledge from various disciplines in the field of the humanities and its application in untypical professional situations related to the performed job of librarian or information specialist. Is capable of critical analysis of information institutions from the point of view of book and information studies, characterized by originality of approach and considering novel developments in the humanities with the aim of defining their meaning, social impact, and placement in the cultural-historical process. Systematically participates in the cultural life, takes interest in actual cultural events and novel forms of artistic expression, new phenomena in art, related to the book and book institutions.
