After completing the course, students:
KNOWLEDGE:
- has extended knowledge in the use of management methods and tools in the field of book and information science
- understands the basic concepts of management and organization of work in the field of librarianship
- knows the basic concepts of management and their application in the field of librarianship
- knows leadership models and methods of motivating employees
SKILLS:
- can use basic theoretical approaches and concepts appropriate for bibliology, librarianship and informatics in typical professional situations
- has the ability to prepare typical written works in Polish and a foreign language, considered to be basic for bibliology and informatology, on specific issues, using the basic theoretical approaches, as well as various sources
- can determine the elements of decision-making and planning processes and describe the vision, mission and goals of the library on selected examples
- can describe the library in the context of its organizational structure
OTHER COMPETENCES:
- can interact and work in a group, taking on different roles
- is able to properly define the priorities for the implementation of the task set by himself or others
Assessment criteria
To pass this cource student has to:
• attend at classes
• participate actively in classes (participation in discussions during classes, preparation of short reading assignments),
• pass the test.
Due to the nature of the classes, students will be assessed on a regular basis.
During the assessment, the following elements will be taken into account:
• degree of preparation for classes (including: knowledge of reading content),
• substantial participation in discussion,
• result from the test.
