History of Culture 2700-L-IN-Z6HK
Definition and various features of contemporary culture will provide a backdrop for a series of lectures devoted to its development with regard to science and education and its derivatives (music, painting, architecture).
The considerations on the availability of culture will be carried out in chronological order. The area of particular interest will be covered by Western Europe (especially France) and Polish lands. The classes will refer to institutionalized, but everyday dimension of culture (traditions, customs), to its social accessibility (culture of low, high culture, including the dissemination of education and higher education) and its limitations (gender, ethnic diversity, otherness religious).
The appearance of multiple functions of culture will relate primarily to the organization of public life. The emergence of various cultural and scientific institutions (schools, libraries, galleries, exhibitions, museums) will be discussed in the context of the needs of social and national policies of selected countries and conscious of their impact / response to existing problems (lack of statehood, migration, terrorism, globalization, exclusion ).
The cultural history considered from the perspective of its availability twill show for the students the acceleration of civilization, changes in value systems, some ways to redefining the basic concepts.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knows the basic definitions and functions of culture
- Is able to analyze its evolution in the context of access to science, education, and public and private institutions of culture from the nineteenth century.
- Lists the most important institutions of Polish culture in the country and abroad in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
- Clarifies and defines the contemporary problems of civilization referring to their historical origins, in their solving explains the special role they have to play to the cultural institutions.
SKILLS:
- Selected examples can indicate the continuity of the historical development of selected cultural institutions
- Knows how to diagnose the most important risks civilization XXI in. In regard to their origins
- Based on the analysis of multi / intercultural describes the possibilities of solving the problems of civilization, learning spaces need to use in order to prevent social conflicts

- Isolated acquires knowledge and creates its own system of views and the hierarchy of values
- Develops a variety of research skills

Assessment criteria
