Press Specialization 2700-L-DM-Z5SPPR-DZI
Specialization consists of eight thematic modules. Each of them is run by another person - an active professional journalist. Work involves writing in classes as well as discussion on press texts in terms of individual journalism genres. During all semesters of specialization the student becomes familiar with the eight most important work of the journalist's press genres. During classes, conducted by journalists, students become familiar with the requirements of individual journalism genres in both theory and practice. During each module student must prepare a number of works associated with a given genres, which are then checked by a journalist and discussed in class. Depending on the mode of study for each thematic module was designed for 15 to 30 hours of practice.

KNOWLEDGE
1. knows what are the most important journalistic genres and understands their characteristics in daily newspapers and weeklies; knows what are the main characteristics of each genres and is able to show these qualities in the selected text
2. knows the journalistic rules for the materials preparation in various genres, knows how to talk to people and how to deal with the information obtained
3. knows what it is journalistic research and knows the rules of its preparation
4. knows the classic texts of the various genres, in particular reports, interviews and essays
5. knows what a text editing and adjusting
SKILLS
1. knows how to collect the material and how to make work with texts according to different criteria of quality
2. is able to analyze every journalism genre, showing its advantages and disadvantages
3. knows how to prepare and organize work in a team of journalists
4. can edit texts of other authors
OTHER COMPETENCES
1. understands what is the relationship between journalistic ethics and workshop,
2. knows the basis of professional ethics
Assessment criteria
The student must deliver the required number of works, not less than two over the course of one module.
• During the course students should actively discuss works - during each of the modules to be assessed at least two works of each student
• the activity of a student during class, especially the ability to analyze texts
