Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students:
KNOWLEDGE:
-know the theoretical basis of social studies and media studies;
-know the basic methods and techniques used to study the media in Poland and around the world
SKILLS:
- Is able to use various methods of research;
- Is able to analyze and interpret the results of research both from the quantitative and qualitative perspective;
-can interpret the results of the reactive and non-reactive research (from content analysis, discourse analysis to the study of audience, telemetry research and audience readership).
OTHER COMPETENCES:
- be oriented in the ways of organizing and carrying out research
- Understands the utility of media studies for cognitive and practical purposes.
- Is able to organize and manage the research process.
Assessment criteria
Conducting various studies FGI, IDI, CAWI, CAPI, CATI, content analysis, discourse analysis, image analysis, eyetracing experiments- triangulating research methods in various projects
