(in Polish) Mentoring Studencki - Wspólny Kierunek 2600-MSWK(KS)-OG
Student mentoring is a course that combines participants' personal development with active support for the academic community, consisting of two main components: workshops and practical mentoring experience.
In the workshop portion, which totals 14 academic hours, participants prepare for their roles as mentors. The training begins with an organizational and information meeting (2 academic hours, in-person) introducing the program's goals and participation rules. This is followed by communication skills training (8 academic hours, in-person) focused on empathetic relationship-building, assertive dialogue, boosting self-confidence, and leveraging personal strengths to support mentees while shaping one's career path. Participants also learn about the various support systems provided by the University of Warsaw and their specific faculties (2 academic hours, in-person or online), followed by a session dedicated to discussing the mentor's role, forms of support, and typical challenges faced by first-year students (2 academic hours, in-person).
The practical portion consists of 18 academic hours, during which mentors regularly collaborate both online and offline with two first-year students. Acting as guides to ease the transition into university life, mentors help mentees understand the university structure and navigate administrative tasks such as course registration and using the USOS system. Mentors answer questions about academic life, direct mentees to specialized university support units when problems exceed their expertise, motivate them to engage in campus culture and student government, and help students from outside Warsaw get to know the city.
Ultimately, participation allows students to develop interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as learn how to responsibly support others while maintaining self-care. The course fosters civic engagement and responsibility within the academic community, offers continuous monitoring of the mentoring relationship in cooperation with a faculty supervisor, helps build self-confidence, and encourages reflection on academic and professional priorities. Additionally, networking events and supplementary workshops will be organized for both mentors and mentees to further expand their knowledge, skills, and practical experience.

Term 2026Z:
Mentoring studencki to zajęcia, które łączą rozwój osobisty uczestników z realnym wsparciem społeczności akademickiej. Zajęcia składają się z dwóch głównych części: warsztatowej i praktycznej mentoringowej. W części warsztatowej (łącznie 14h dyd.) uczestnicy zostaną przygotowani do pełnienia roli mentorów i mentorek. W części praktycznej (18 h) dydaktycznych) mentorzy i mentorki będą regularnie, offline i online, współpracować z 2 osobami z pierwszego roku. |
