The course curriculum covers the following topics:
1. Company and innovativeness. Innovations in regard to the research, development and implementation of technologies. Change management and technology development. Consequences of technology implementation – resistance to change (2 hours).
2. Innovation policy and the knowledge-based economy. Innovation in the Polish economy. National, regional, and sectoral innovation systems. National Smart Specializations (2 hours).
3. Technical knowledge, knowledge management, key competencies, and their impact on innovation. Intellectual property management (2 hours).
4. Types of innovation according to the OECD. Innovation strategy, innovation process, technical innovation and business model (S-curve, technology adoption cycle, blue ocean strategy, Social Construction of Technology). The Open innovation model (Case Study) (6 hours).
5. Planning and organizing new production. Technology readiness levels (2 hours).
6. Technology development and the organizational environment. Inter-organizational cooperation in the R&D activities - opportunities and threats. An Example of Business-Science Collaboration. (2 hours).
7. Workshop - "Managing Technology Development and Implementation": 1. Market Analysis and Target Group Selection. 2. Creativity and Technology Development. Creativity Stimulation Techniques: Brainstorming and Design Thinking. Designing Technologies. 3. Technology Assessment (Scenario Method, Delphi Method, Q-Sort Method, Competitiveness Profiling, Scoring Method). 4. Technology Management – Portfolio Analysis. Technology Audit in the Organization, ranking and selection of technologies. Technology Budgeting and Valuation. Stage-Gate Model (Case Study) (9 hours).
8. Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability in the context of Technology Development and Implementation (2 hours).
9. Technology Development and Implementation in the context of Industry 4.0. The technological assimilation gap. IT support for innovation processes (2 hours).
10. Summary & Final test (1 hour).
