1. Instruction on writing a diploma/master's thesis - procedure, course, deadlines, requirements
2. Discussion of the seminar topic - in the field of management and quality science
3. Selection of individual topics for individual students
4. Discussion of the subject matter and scope of individual selected topics, the structure of sample works and requirements regarding the research part of the work
5. Discussion of the literature in general regarding the scope and topic of applications of computer science in business and finance, requirements for students to find detailed literature for their diploma thesis
6. Requirements regarding the outline of a diploma/master's thesis
7. Discussion and review of the submitted outlines, passing the first semester
8. Presentations of problems related to the implementation of selected topics of diploma and master's theses
9. Ways to solve problems with writing diploma and master's theses based on selected works in which they appeared
10. Verification of written fragments/chapters of individual students' works and ordering corrections
11. Checking the corrections introduced into the work, closing individual fragments/chapters of the work
12. Final corrections and approval of the work
13. Instruction on how to prepare for the defense of master's theses, discussion of possible questions and defense procedures

Learning outcomes
Student after completing the course:
1. Knows and understands in-depth research methodology and terminology in the field of management and quality science and in complementary disciplines (economics and finance, legal sciences), in particular in the area of financial management and accounting (K_W01)
2. Knows and understands in-depth the principles, procedures and practices regarding the use of the basic MS Word and Excel packages (K_W02),
3. Knows and understands to an advanced level how to use the MS Office package in business practice related to finance and accounting (K_W05)
4. Is able to use the practice of using MS Office to solve current economic problems (K_U01)
5. Is able to correctly interpret complex technological, social, political, legal, economic and ecological processes and phenomena and their impact on financial decisions in organizations, the functioning of the organization and the entire economy, using the appropriate selection of sources. (K_U02)
6. Is able to independently and collectively prepare analyses, diagnoses and reports on financial management in organizations, accounting, management of financial institutions and strategies of financial institutions and present them communicatively, also in English - using IT and communication tools (K_U03)
7. Can use a foreign language at the B2+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and specialist terminology in the field of management and quality science, in particular for financial management and accounting. (K_U04)
8. Is able to plan, organize and manage team work (K_U05)
9. Has the ability to self-educate and improve acquired qualifications (K_U06)
10. Is ready to assess and critically approach situations and phenomena related to financial management in organizations, accounting, management of financial institutions and strategists of financial institutions (K_K01)
11. Is ready to comply with and develop professional ethical standards (K_K03)
Assessment criteria
Instruction, examples from practice, interactive explanation of key tasks. The basic assessment criterion is the presentation of the completed diploma-master's thesis and its approval by the supervisor.
