The science of management is constantly developing and managers have an increasingly wider choice of theories and specific solutions at their disposal. Theoretical and practical perspectives for the development of the discipline on a macro, meso and micro scale will be presented in sequence.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
Knows and understands in depth the research methodology and terminology in the discipline of management and quality sciences, as well as in complementary disciplines (economics and finance, legal sciences). (K_W01)
Knows and understands complex processes and phenomena occurring in different types of organizations and their surrounding environment, and can use management theory to recognize, diagnose, and solve contemporary problems related to key organizational functions (operational, marketing, financial, human resources) and their integration within the organizational strategy. (K_W02)
Knows and understands complex technological, social, political, legal, economic, and ecological processes and phenomena, including fundamental dilemmas of modern civilization, and their impact on the functioning of contemporary organizations and the economy as a whole, including principles of industrial property protection and copyright law. (K_W05)
Skills:
Can correctly interpret complex technological, social, political, legal, economic, and ecological processes and phenomena and their impact on the functioning of organizations and the economy as a whole, using appropriate selection of sources. (K_U02)
Can collaborate and support others in the execution of complex and non-standard tasks, integrating knowledge from different areas within team work or organizational projects. (K_U09)
Social Competences:
Is prepared to assess and critically approach complex situations and phenomena related to the functioning of contemporary organizations, the sector, and the entire economy. (K_K01)
Assessment criteria
Learning outcomes will be verified on an ongoing basis through the work performed by participants during the lecture and finally during the exam
Passing the course requires passing the final exam.
• The final exam is a multiple-choice test.
• The exam takes place in a lecture hall.
In total, you will be able to score 100 points during the exam, the number of which will determine the final grade:
0-50 points – grade 2
51-60 points – grade 3
61-70 points – rating 3.5
71-80 points – grade 4
81-90 points – rating 4.5
91-100 points – grade 5
• In selected cases, an alternative to passing an exam test is to prepare a group presentation and deliver it. The presentation must present selected current issues related to the functioning of the organization and grounded in theory.
• The lecturer selects groups preparing presentations based on the analysis of the submitted outlines.
• The final grade may be increased by a grade if the student actively participates in additional work accompanying the lectures.
