Macroeconomic policy in the EU 2600-MSFRz2PEUE
Familiarization with the basics of macroeconomic policy implemented in the EU. First of all, what is macroeconomic policy from the perspective of various types of activities carried out by the EC. Presentation of the main factors influencing various trends in the implementation of the basic objectives of regional development policy. Discussion of various theories of regional development, including the New Structural Policy.
EU economic policies are focused on combating the long-term effects of the worst economic crisis. Currently, the improvement of the economic situation in the EU is becoming more and more visible, although the economic growth rate remains moderate. For this reason, the balance of benefits and costs of Poland's possible entry into the euro zone will be discussed. This is due to the fact that by joining the EU, Poland became a member of the third stage of EMU with the so-called derogation.
Special emphasis will be placed on the role of regional policy and cohesion policy. The basic issues discussed during the lecture are:
1. EU budget
2. Institutional system
3. Basics of fiscal policy
