The course will cover the characteristics of international accounting - accounting as a science, a set of legal regulations, an information system, the language of business, a system for registering economic events. The accounting system in the process of globalization of the world economy will be described, with particular emphasis on continental and Anglo-Saxon accounting. The difference between harmonization and standardization of accounting in regional and global terms will be discussed.
The main scope of the subject concerns the characteristics of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), American standards (US GAAP) and Polish accounting law. The institutional framework of international accounting will be presented.
A large part of the substantive content will consist of detailed characteristics of selected international standards: International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The above will result in a discussion of the principles of preparing separate financial statements in accordance with the principles of international accounting.
The content of the subject is a comparative analysis of the provisions of balance sheet law and an indication of similarities and differences between the Accounting Act and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

K_W01 Knows and understands in-depth research methodology and terminology in the field of management and quality science as well as economics and finance, in particular in the area of financial management and international accounting regarding international accounting standards.
K_W02 Knows and understands in-depth the principles, procedures and practices regarding financial management in organizations, in particular in the field of international accounting standards.
K_W03 Knows and understands in-depth theories and economic models regarding the functioning of organizations and the entire economy in an international perspective.
K_W04 Knows and understands in-depth legal regulations regarding the functioning of organizations and the entire economy, in particular internationally.
K_W05 Knows and understands complex technological, social, legal and economic processes and phenomena and their impact on financial decisions in reporting in organizations, as well as the functioning of organizations operating internationally.
K_W06 Knows and understands the principles of creating and developing various forms of entrepreneurship in the national and global dimensions, in particular creating, operating and reporting within international standards.
In terms of skills:
K_U01 Is able to use the theory of the discipline of management science and quality of economics and finance to recognize, diagnose and solve problems related to financial decisions in the international dimension, using the appropriate selection of sources to prepare financial statements according to the International Financial Reporting Standards.
K_U02 Is able to correctly interpret complex technological, social, legal and economic processes and phenomena and their impact on financial decisions in organizations and their functioning, using the appropriate selection of information sources for reporting according to international standards.
K_U06 Has the ability to self-educate, improve acquired qualifications and support others in this area of reporting based on solutions operating in other countries.
In terms of social competences:
K_K01 Is ready to assess and critically approach complex situations and phenomena related to financial management in organizations and accounting according to international standards.
Assessment criteria
Learning outcomes will be verified on an ongoing basis through tasks performed by participants during seminars. Additionally, participants receive bonuses for their activity during classes, which increase their final grade. The grade for passing the seminar is the result of:
20% work in classes;
80% final test.
