1/ Data sources in financial analysis: public (WB, IMF, BIS, ECB, etc.) versus private and hand-collected; Simple analysis of financial data with application of Global Financial Development Database: summary descriptive statistics, correlation matrix
2/ Analysis of links between efficiency – risks – competitition / market structure:
- dimensions of efficiency, risks and competition / market structure
- panel data modeling; the use of qualitative data in financial analysis – application of such data in econometric models, interaction terms analysis.

Learning outcomes
S2_W01 Knows and understands in a thorough manner terminology in the discipline of Economics and Finance as well as in supplementary disciplines (Management and Quality Studies, Legal Sciences).
S2_W02 Knows and understands in a thorough manner methods, procedures and practices of effective financial management in an organisation operating on international markets.
S2_W03 Knows and understands in a thorough manner the economic conditions of financial management in the international aspect in an organization operating on the global market.
S2_W05 Knows and understands complex technological, social, political, legal, economic and ecological processes and phenomena as well as their impact on the functioning of the organization and the entire economy in the international context, including the principles of industrial property protection and copyright law.
S2_U01 Is able to use the theory of Economics and Finance discipline as well as supplementary sciences (Management and Quality Studies, Legal Sciences) to recognize, diagnose and solve complex and unusual problems related to financial management in an organization operating on international markets, using the right selection of sources and adapting existing or developing new methods.
S2_U03 Is able to independently and as a team prepare analyses, diagnoses and reports on complex and unusual international financial management problems and present them communicatively in English - using advanced IT and communication tools.
S2_U04 Is able to use a foreign language at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages as well as specialist terminology in the field of Management and Quality Studies.
S2_U05 Is able to plan, organize and manage team work, including international teams.
S2_U06 Has the ability to self-educate, raise acquired qualifications and support others in this area.
S2_K01 Is ready to assess and critically approach situations and phenomena related to the international activities of the organization.
S2_K02 Is ready to think and act in an entrepreneurial way on international markets.
Assessment criteria
Projects:
1. Up to 3 small projects (up to 50 % of grade) in teams
2. One big project (50 % -70% of grade) in teams
Project includes: written report and/or presentation and dis-cussion.
