Nearshoring of services is a recent development which combines distanciation and centralization of (corporate) services in bordering countries. Central Europe in general, and Poland in particular, offer huge potential for this business model which is underlined by the huge growth in this field.
The module introduces key concepts of off-/nearshoring and outsourcing of services and reflects recent developments in Poland. It includes talks with senior managers of nearshoring companies in Warsaw.

Students are able to define nearshoring and neighboring concepts and to identify key challenges in these processes.
They can describe major advantages of Poland and Central Europe and are able to critically discuss the model.
They know main advantages and challenges in nearshoring and how to mitigate these.
