The M&A in Entertainment Industry subject focuses on the analysis of mergers and acquisitions in one of the most dynamic and global sectors of the economy - the entertainment industry. The course covers both theoretical and practical aspects of M&A transactions, taking into account their specificity in such segments as film, television, music, video games, digital media and streaming platforms. Selected topics covered in the classes:
· Mergers and Acquisitions Basics: An introduction to key concepts, deal types, motivations, and processes.
· Entertainment Industry Analysis: Key market trends, sector characteristics and competitive dynamics.
· Strategic M&A drivers in entertainment: Scaling the business, diversifying the content portfolio, building a technological advantage.
· Legal and Regulatory Aspects: Legal requirements, antitrust issues and industry regulations.
· Business Valuation in the Entertainment Industry: Specific Approaches to Valuing Brands, Content Libraries, and Digital Assets.
· Case Study: Analyzing high-profile deals such as Disney-Fox, Microsoft-Activision, and Amazon-MGM.
· The impact of new technologies on M&A: The importance of AI, VR/AR and blockchain in the transformation of the entertainment sector.

Assessment criteria
Presentation or colloquium – to choose from. (Weight 100%). The presentation aims to present a selected case study from different perspectives of economic sciences. There is also a possibility of obtaining credit based on a colloquium consisting of 10 tasks (open, closed). Pass threshold - 50%.
