Dependency theory. The case of the Khmer Rouge revolution. 2600-DSdz3DTCKRen
In the theoretical part of the course, students will be introduced to the basic assumptions of dependency theory and the resulting concepts of autarkic development. During the lecture, students will have the opportunity to analyse one of the most radical revolutions in history - the Khmer Rouge revolution - its genesis, course, historical context. The central problem addressed during the class will be to point out the empirical manifestations of autarkic development; to consider which concepts of perceived social change correspond with it and in which situations it becomes particularly politically attractive, what are its external conditions and what constitutes its political failures. .
