Cybersecurity and OSINT Fundamentals 2600-DSdz3COFen
The course provides a overview of cyber threat landscapes, OSINT methodologies and legal aspects, privacy preserving techniques, Wi Fi security, phishing, organized cyber crime groups, and AI security (adversarial attacks, data poisoning, prompt injection, model stealing, model evasion). Each sessions combines short theoretical input with live demonstrations and guided practical exercises using openly available tools.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
Describe the main roles in cybersecurity (red team, blue team). – K_W01 (general knowledge in cybersecurity)
Identify and use free OSINT tools to gather information. – K_U01 (practical skills in information gathering)
Apply techniques to enhance privacy. – K_U02 (skills in applying data protection and privacy techniques)
Conduct basic network forensic analysis and use common forensic tools. – K_U03 (practical skills in digital analysis and investigation)
Assess risks related to Wi-Fi security and apply safe practices when using hotspots. – K_U04 (ability to assess risks and implement secure network practices)
Recognize and analyze fake websites and phishing attempts. – K_U05 (skills in identifying online threats)
Discuss AI security issues and demonstrate awareness of adversarial attacks, data poisoning, prompt injection, model theft, and model evasion techniques. – K_U06 (ability to assess AI system security and understand potential threats)
Create a virtual machine on a local computer and use Kali Linux. – K_U07 (ability to install and configure a virtual environment and practically use security tools on Linux systems)
Assessment criteria
Participation in lessons and written exam – 100 % of the final grade. The exam will test theory and practical aspects of cybersecurity and OSINT
Written exam (0.5 h, remote, supervised via Zoom)
