The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the concept of process management, one of the most prominent approaches to organizational design. Students will explore the key features of this perspective, its advantages compared to the traditional hierarchical model, and specific methods for implementing the process approach. The course also addresses challenges associated with adopting process management in non-manufacturing-focused organizations.

16. Six Sigma + Lean Tools: Define (SIPOC, CVC, CTQ, CTB, Kano Model, and stakeholder analysis).
17. Six Sigma + Lean Tools: Measure (measures’ matrix, data source and type analysis, Pareto diagrams, histograms, process cards, and DPMO).
18. Six Sigma + Lean Tools: Analyze (cause-and-effect diagrams, swimlane diagrams, spaghetti diagrams, and the 7 types of waste).
19. Six Sigma + Lean Tools: Improve (TOC, 5S, Poka Yoke, reverse brainstorming, and SCAMPER).
20. Six Sigma + Lean Tools: Control (documentation, visualizations, control diagrams, and reaction plans).

After completing the course, the student:
In terms of knowledge:
• Correctly uses terminology related to process management. (K_W01)
• Explains the origins of the process-oriented approach and its advantages over the hierarchical approach in work organization. (K_W02)
• Identifies critical elements of process management and the organizational competencies necessary for implementing this approach. (K_W02)
In terms of skills:
• Applies BPM principles and the Capability Maturity Model methods to assess the maturity of processes within an organization. (K_U01)
• Prepares analyses regarding the impact of BPM tools on organizational processes. (K_U05)
• Utilizes identified sources of knowledge and available materials to enhance their expertise in the area of process management. (K_U08)
In terms of social competencies:
• Evaluates the effectiveness of implemented procedures related to process management in the context of improving the quality of organizational processes. (K_K01)
• Recognizes the role of process management tools, such as Six Sigma or Lean, in enforcing ethical standards by increasing transparency, optimizing processes, eliminating unethical practices, and clearly assigning responsibility at each stage of the process. (K_K05)
