The lecture covers the following topics:
1. The concept of innovation. Innovation management. Change management and technology development (2 hours).
2. Innovation and the knowledge-based economy. Innovativeness of the Polish economy. National, regional, and sectoral innovation systems. National Smart Specializations (2 hours).
3. Innovation according to the OECD. Radical and incremental innovation. Innovation strategy, innovation processes, innovation models. (2 hours).
4. The open innovation model (Case Study) (2 hours).
5. Technical knowledge, knowledge management, key competencies, and their impact on innovation. Intellectual property management (2 hours).
6. The technology market. Technology management (2 hours).
7. Project - "Commercialization":
7a. Creativity and technology development. Designing new ideas. Techniques for stimulating creativity: Brainstorming and Design Thinking (2 hours).
7b. Technology commercialization plan. Environment analysis (PEST and Porter's 5 Forces methods) (2 hours).
7c. Technology audit in the organization. Technology Readiness Level (TRL) (2 hours).
7d. Technology Ranking and Selection (Scenario Method, Delphi Method, Q-Sort Method, Competitiveness Profiling, Scoring Method) (2 hours).
8. Technology Budgeting and Valuation. Stage-Gate Model (Case Study) (2 hours).
9. Innovation and the Organizational Environment. Inter-organizational Collaboration in R&D, Opportunities and Threats. An Example of Business-Science Collaboration. (2 hours).
10. Risk Management in Innovation. Basic Risk Mitigation Strategies (2 hours).
11. Corporate Social Responsibility and the Concept of Sustainability in Technology Development (2 hours).

Knowledge:
K_W01 – Knows and understands the terminology and basic research methodology in the field of innovation and technology management as well as supporting disciplines (economics, finance, law).
K_W02 – Knows and understands, at an advanced level, the principles, procedures, and practices of organizational functioning in the area of innovation activities, including key functions and relationships with the environment.
K_W05 – Knows and understands technological, social, economic, legal, and environmental processes influencing innovation development and the functioning of organizations and the economy, including sustainability challenges.
K_W06 – Knows and understands the principles of industrial property protection and copyright law in the context of innovation management and technology commercialization.
Skills:
K_U01 – Is able to apply knowledge of management, economics, and law to diagnose and solve problems related to innovation activities and integrate them into organizational strategy.
K_U05 – Is able to independently and collaboratively prepare analyses, diagnoses, and reports on organizational innovativeness and commercialization processes, present them using ICT tools, and participate in discussions (also in English).
K_U07 – Is able to plan and organize individual and team work and effectively collaborate in the implementation of innovation projects.

K_K01 – Is ready to critically evaluate phenomena related to innovation, technologies, and the functioning of organizations and the economy.
