The aim of the course is to analyze the investment banking sector. Consequently, the following topics will be included:
investment banking operations,
overview of financial markets,
application of mechanics and valuation techniques,

Knowledge:
* K_W01: Student knows and understands in depth the specialist terminology and research methodology used in investment banking, particularly in capital market analysis, financial modeling, IPO, M&A, LBO processes, and valuation of financial instruments.
* K_W05: Student possesses in-depth knowledge regarding methods and tools for financial modeling and their application to comprehensive valuation analysis of companies and transactions characteristic of investment banking (IPO, M&A, LBO, structured products).
* K_W07: Student knows the principles of enterprise functioning in capital markets and understands the processes of creating and developing business activities in the context of IPO, M&A, and other forms of capital raising on domestic and global markets.
Skills:
* K_U01: Student can use theories of economics, finance, and related sciences to analyze and evaluate financial decisions in investment banking, including those concerning IPO, M&A, LBO, and structured investment products.
* K_U02: Student can interpret complex economic, regulatory, and market phenomena affecting the strategic decisions of investment banks and the functioning of capital markets.
* K_U04: Student can formulate and test hypotheses regarding asset valuation, financial market efficiency, and investment banking processes using market data and analytical tools.
* K_U05: Student can propose solutions to decision-making problems under conditions of high market uncertainty, characteristic of IPO, M&A, LBO transactions, and advanced investment products.
* K_U06: Student can independently and in teams prepare professional analyses, financial models, transaction reports, and presentations regarding investment banking operations and communicate them effectively in Polish and English, using advanced IT tools.
Social Competencies:
* K_K01: Student can critically evaluate complex investment banking processes, including risks related to asset valuation, M&A and LBO transaction structures, and the consequences of decisions made on capital markets.
* K_K02: Student appreciates the role of current scientific knowledge, expert analyses, and market data in the decision-making process in investment banking and can use expert opinions.
* K_K03: Student can initiate actions promoting responsible practices in financial markets and understands the social consequences of investment banking processes and products.
Assessment criteria
Preparation of a project according to the instructor's guidelines based on market data. The project should consist of: theoretical description of the phenomenon, data description, model description, results, conclusions, summary, and limitations.
